Small sardines in Brava sauce

Sardines

No fish is more Portuguese than sardines. This fish holds a place at the top of the most valued and consumed fish in our country. Portugal is surrounded by waters rich in sardines, and during World War II, it became the country producing the most high-quality sardines. Our goal is to contribute to the internationalization of this fish and let the world taste Portuguese tradition.

Nutritional value

Sardines are not only highly valued for their organoleptic properties, but are also a fish with numerous nutritional benefits.
Sardines are an oily fish, rich in healthy fats, namely omega-3 fatty acids that reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. The American Heart Association recommends eating sardines twice a week. It is also rich in iron, essential for transporting oxygen in the blood, phosphorus, and calcium. Because it is a small fish, the mercury content is very low.

Sauce

Brava sauce is a sauce composed of various ingredients such as red pepper, chili, and garlic. It has a creamy texture and an exceptionally attractive color; the flavor is complete and each of the fresh ingredients can be detected, presenting a touch of spiciness in perfect balance.

Production method

The petinga brava can contains about 10 pre-cooked small fish that are placed individually in the can by staff who ensure their presentation meets the intended standard. The sauce is made entirely from scratch in an industrial kitchen and then added to each of the cans. Each can is closed one by one, washed, sterilized, and packed with care.

Description

🔥 Brand of the month: Pinhais – 20% off on 4 selected products Discover the offer!

From Patatas Bravas in Spain to Moqueca in Brazil to the unforgettable flavors of Sweden and Japan, our chef Luís Baena and nutritionist Inês Nogueira have created a revolutionary sequence of flavors that spans the globe.
By building our own cannery (the smallest in Portugal), we are no longer bound by the constraints associated with co-packing via a larger producer. Gone are the days of minimum order quantities. Gone are the days of compromise. Instead, our state-of-the-art facility – more laboratory than factory – offers an R&D capacity that is simply unmatched in the industry.
Our facility produces no more than 999 cans of each ABC+ series every day. This makes every can truly special. It also means we can source much smaller quantities of fish and do not have to develop concepts based solely on volume.
Our fish are selected for what is fresh, in season, and above all, inspiring. This, combined with sauces that are handmade seasonally, means that no two batches (or even 2 cans) are completely identical. Instead of trying in vain to enforce uniformity for the sake of repetition, we embrace this uniqueness of experience, knowing that each can will be delicious in its own distinctive way. This makes our products more like single malt Scotch than blended whisky.
And all of this positions ABC+ to take the culinary world by storm.
