Octopus is prized as a delicacy in many parts of the world, whether for its versatility or its characteristic texture and flavor. There are several traditional Portuguese dishes where octopus is the star, and they are highly regarded by all visitors to our country.

Nutritional value

Octopus is an excellent source of protein with trace amounts of fat. It is also rich in iron, omega-3, selenium, copper, vitamin B12, potassium, magnesium, and calcium.
Furthermore, it has a low caloric value and does not contain high levels of mercury.

Sauce

The octopus stew, much like the cod stew, honors Portuguese gastronomic tradition. It requires simple ingredients such as tomato, onion, and garlic, which together impart a unique flavor to this product.
We believe that those who taste these preserves also taste a little piece of Portugal.

Production method

The canned octopus stew is a product involving significant manual labor; ingredients are all portioned by hand and each can is individually weighed. The octopus is prepared in our facilities and cut into pieces of the ideal size to ensure proper canning. Each piece of octopus is placed in the can by hand along with the other ingredients. Every can is closed one by one, washed, sterilized, and packed with care.

Our fish are selected based on what is fresh, in season, and above all, inspiring. This, combined with sauces handcrafted seasonally, means that no two batches (or even two cans) are completely identical. Rather than trying in vain to enforce uniformity for the sake of repetition, we embrace this uniqueness of experience, knowing that each can will be delicious in its own distinctive way. This makes our products more akin to single malt Scotch than blended whisky.
