Nutritional value

Cod is a great source of protein and is low in fat. Its consumption helps prevent the onset of colon cancer due to its vitamin B12, selenium, and vitamin D content.

Sauce

Our cod stew is designed to give our consumers a piece of Portuguese tradition in a can, and cod stew is a traditional Portuguese dish. It requires simple ingredients such as tomato, onion, and garlic, but together they give a unique flavor to this product. We believe that those who taste these preserves also taste a little bit of Portugal.

Production method

Our cod stew is a labor-intensive product where all ingredients are placed by hand in the correct portion and each can be weighed individually. The whole cod is soaked in our facilities; this soaking process can vary from 1-3 days, after which it is cooked until it reaches the ideal point. After cooking, all the cod is sorted by hand, removing the bones and skin. This process results in perfect cod flakes. A generous amount of cod is added—not too much, but in the right portion so that none of the flavors overlap. Each can is closed one by one, washed, sterilized, and packed with care.

Our facility produces no more than 999 cans of each ABC+ series every day. This makes every can truly special. It also means we can source much smaller quantities of fish and do not have to develop concepts based solely on volume.
Our fish are selected based on what is fresh, in season, and above all, inspiring. This, combined with sauces that are handmade seasonally, means that no two batches (or even two cans) are completely identical. Instead of trying in vain to enforce uniformity for the sake of repetition, we embrace this uniqueness of experience, knowing that each can will be delicious in its own distinctive way. This makes our products more like single malt Scotch than blended whisky.
